During the session on Friday I had a post-it learning wall going which delegates really got involved with. I promised to share those ideas, so here we go! (If these were your ideas and you want to clarify / improve the explanation then just get in touch!)
- music playing with a question on the board about it / factors to sequence
- dominoes with TL and images
- same as dominoes, you write a sentence on different mini-whiteboards and they recreate their sentences. Then they write a sentence and the other half of the class reorganises it
- what's in the bag- a sealed bag on each table with topic items in
- give each learner a card with a TL word on- they have to categorise themselves! They then work with the rest of their group for that lesson
- riddles
- is it positive or negative?
- look up these words
- abbreviated sentences e.g. sikaof (Sam ist klug aber oft faul)
- make up a German / French / Spanish word, then use it in context (I LOVE THIS IDEA, CAN'T WAIT TO USE IT!)
- song and gap-fill playing as learners enter
- word association- word on board, how many associated words can teams think of?
