RTA course on blogging, mobiles, podcasts and wikis

Posted by ShoZu

As you can see above, Carlos was out and about again on Thursday, this time at the Kingwood CLC in Fulham. Some brave, some might say foolish, people had agreed to the torture of listening to me for a full 6 and a half hours. When I told some of my pupils that fact this morning, the groans confirmed the horrors that lay in store for them...

Anyway, I think we had quite a good day, delving into the wonderful world of blogs, podcasts, mobile phones and wikis. Thanks to the fantastic support provided by Typepad all of the delegates were able to set up their own blog for real. And wow were some of them coming along well after the addictive hour and a half or so that we had to play around (if any of you are reading this, please remember to send me the address!!). During the rest of the day we were able to mess around with bluetooth and voice recording (giggling in the way that some of my year 9s do, it's a great fun learning experience), edit out my constant ums in Audacity and, hopefully, generate plenty of new ideas to take straight back into schools.

Typically, however, my fantastic iriver seems to be playing up, generating a large number of error messages, which I'll endeavour to correct during the course of the next week. As such, for now, here are the ppts, in case any of you want to cascade the training...

Here's the video "Wikis in Plain English"

Thank you all for a really stimulating, if exhausting day!! Stay in touch, and I hope it was useful.
