Well, whilst sitting enjoying the mighty Liverpool beat PSV Eindhoven, I've been playing around with my iriver and Audacity creating my first podcast, dealing with the Spanish regular present tense. I'd really appreciate any comments on it, so please hop over to my school blog and download them!
After an afternoon of struggling with onetruemedia, I've finally posted our year 1's description of their families. Is this the youngest MFL blog post so far? If not, please please get in touch- the class were so excited at the thought of "THE INTERNET" that I've no doubt they'd love to make contact!
Well, I’m feeling chuffed, and that doesn’t often happen on a cold, wet Devonian Sunday evening!
Many thanks to Joe Dale for plugging both this site and www.edgehillcollege.typepad.com -it’s been a lot of work recently, but partially just because the potential is so huge, something I realise everytime I sit down to play around with it and a new idea springs to mind!
The reaction at school to the blog’s been fantastic. So many of the kids have come out with the comment that Spanish is “so cool” or “we never do stuff like this in other subjects” that it’s fantastic, and well worth the effort. I was talking to our PGCE student the other day, and I don’t think I really appreciated all the benefits of the blog until I started blabbing on about motivation, assessment and wow factor. For a bit of work setting it up and learning how it all works (including a fair amount of yelling at my computer for being annoying, before realising I was clicking the wrong button), I can’t wait to see how it all develops!
OK, I admit it, Skype's not as scary as it first seems. Having spoken to Joe Dale about it quite a few weeks ago, I was mildly daunted by the prospect. Today, though, I've finally had the chance to sit down with my new logitech microphones, download Skype and explore. And yes, it is easy, and yes, it does seem like a fantastic opportunity! So if anyone ever fancies getting in touch with a tiny school in North Devon, feel free!
Can't wait to find out it's true potential now. Already seen that the hostel we're staying in in Madrid next February is Skype enabled, so...
My name's Chris Fuller, and I'm an addict. Well, that's definitely what it feels like at the moment, anyway. After a month of blagging through blogging at school, finally the time has come to cave to demands and start my own site to share my own ideas, confusions, agonies and delights!
Hopefully over the foreseeable future I'll be able to post some interesting things, some odd things, some well known things and some new things- well, it's worth hoping!
So please feel free to comment- please please share, ideas, experiences and solutions!!
